Gustav Klimt Centre - Opening 14th July 2012

To mark his 150th birthday a new Gustav Klimt centre will open on 14th July 2012.

The centre will portray the famous “Vienna in 1900W will be prominently located on the avenue leading to the castle of Kammer; which also features in one of his paintings. The media-enriched centre will inform visitors about Gustav Klimt’s time at Litzlberg, Kammer und Weißenbach, his summer retreat between 1900 and 1916.

Planned general program for the opening

• The Attersee Schifffahrt offers boat trips at 2 pm, 3 pm and 4 pm (duration app. 45 minutes). You start at the pier in Kammer and go to the Leitl Insel Schloss Litzlberg (Leitl Island Castle Litzlberg). A “Gustav Klimt guide” is on board and explains more about “Gustav Klimt – his life and his work”.
  
  
• Visit of the Gustav Klimt Centre (1st floor of the Seepark Café) – main event: an original drawing of Gustav Klimt of the Leopold Museum Vienna
  
  
• Gustav Klimt walking with audio guides
  
  
• Culinary delicacies in the allee of Schloss Kammer (depends on the weather)
