Numerous panels provide information about Gustav Klimt’s relationship with the region and guide you around the lake to the villages, where the Viennese art nouveau painter spent many summers.
The trail highlights the spots where Klimt painted his landscapes, especially the areas around the places where the artist stayed on the north and south bank at Litzelberg (L1-L5), Kammer (K1-K7) and Weißenbach (W1-W6).
The panels on the promenade at Seewalchen (S1-S3) provide information about Klimt’s life and works and are an ideal place to set off on a walk which follows in the footsteps of the master. You can choose your own route, but following the sequence of numbers is recommended. The panels in the other communities usually offer general information about Klimt’s sojourns on lake Attersee and the Klimt trail.
