Who would not like to accompany Little Red Riding Hood on her way visiting Grandmother, or to be seated at a table with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, or to watch Mother Holle fluffing her cushions?
All these magical fairytale figures and many more can be visited at the new hiking trail ‚Fairytale Wood’ in Unterach on lake Attersee. The path stretches through a diversified forest landscape and thus is perfectly suitable for families with children. For approximately 20 minutes you immerse into the fabulous world of fantasy and fairytales and at the same time you savour the marvellous vista on lake Attersee.
This hike can be either started from Unterach into the direction of Egelsee or from the ‘Westwanderweg’ leading through Nussdorf.
Another possibility to enter the hike is at the ‚Kohlbauernaufsatz’ with a car park.
For the very sporty hikers among you there are plenty of possibilities to join in other hiking trails. Moreover, you can hike through the nature protection area of ‚Egelsee’ and enjoy the variety offered by nature itself, or your journey can continue past the game reserve as far as to the unique sweet chestnut wood.
