The new Viktor Kaplan thematic path is situated between the Attersee and the Mondsee and gives a rough overview of the man's life and works - one of Austrias most important innovators.
Eleven stops along the path inform the visitors on display boards about Viktor Kaplan's innovations, his use of hydraulic power and the way he invented the Kaplan-turbine.
The thematic path starts in Unterach at a central information booth - the Kaplan memorial and guides you to his former domicile "Gut Rochuspoint" where he is buried.
Some boards along the path to the Mondsee and back to the See-Ache to Unterach give beside technical knowledge also geological and scenic information.
This 2-lake-thematic path combines historical knowledge with renewable energie ideas.
