This environmental project in Nussdorf is certainly on the right track!
Wild, natural, untreated – are attributes we no longer associate with the resource wood. Machines are forming the raw material into shapes which fit our life and needs.
Norbert Haberl, carpenter of Nussdorf, preserved the right view for the use of growing forms. He wants to train our eyes in order to respect the „living“tree in his ethnic way and to find out more about it.
Wood from fruit trees, lumber or wild growing trees, there exist an endless number of many-sided facets of this natural wonder. Each tree species has it’s individual character.
For example the name “Nussdorf” offers the possitility to concentrate on walnut and hazel-nut. There exists a wealth of expert knowledge and interesting stories on the little fruit in a nutshell.
A theme trail from the municipal office to the Anger, Oberdorf and further to the sightseeing spot „Pfarrer-Salettl“ will be finished. Feel, see, smell and experience the wonder “wood” for young and old.
12 information points along the trail provide information on the walnut-tree, the symbol of Nußdorf, on the importance of the wood industry for our region, on applications and processing of old fruit trees, and on manufacture of furniture once and now.
