You haven´t heard of it? -boulder climbing at Attersee

Boulder climbing at Attersee

Not surprising, for up until now the boulder area of Attersee was only known to insiders.

However, this boulder area is something to experience. Boulder climbing is climbing without a rope and safety belt on blocks of rock, rockfaces or on artificial climbing walls within jumping height. Since the 1970´s, boulder climbing is a discipline of its own amongst sport climbers and particularly since 1990 has experienced a rapid development.

The nearby mountains of the Höllengebirge offer a number of worthwhile climbing areas.
Alpine sport climbing is possible on the Adlerspitz and sport climbing is ideal at the Auboden with its perfect rough chalk rockface, and at the western end of the range, boulder climbing has been possible since 2002.

200 boulder problems are spread over 100 blocks making the boulder area Attersee one of the largest recently developed boulder areas in the Salzkammergut.
Also from a complexity point of view, the range of difficulty is varied: whether beginner or pro there is something for everyone.
The landscape of the boulder area is unique through the vicinity to Lake Attersee and great views are guaranteed.
Since January 2006 a boulder climbing guide from Attersee has been published. In a 40 side booklet Martin Schmeisser presents the most worthwhile boulder problems from Attersee.

The Boulder Guide is available for € 7.-
